Iredell Health System is pleased to welcome Gary Butler as the new surgical services director.
Butler has more than 30 years of nursing experience, and for the past six years, has served as an operating room manager and as a surgical services director. He entered the medical field because he wanted to make a difference in the lives of others.
“Iredell Memorial has a commitment to providing high-quality care to the citizens of Iredell County and the surrounding areas. I have lived in the community for the majority of my life, and accepting this position at Iredell Memorial Hospital has been like coming home,” he said.
As the director of surgical services, Butler will oversee the daily operations of the surgery department. He hopes to lead the surgical services team in the ever-changing healthcare environment while supporting the mission, vision, and values of Iredell Health System.
“I am excited to work for a health system that recognizes the importance of allocating its resources to the needs of the people of the community,” said Butler.
Butler received an associate degree in businesses administration from Mitchell Community College and then earned his second associate degree in nursing from Louise Harkey School of Nursing in Concord. He went on to receive his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Gardner Webb University in Boiling Springs before earning his Master of Health Administration from Pfeiffer University in Misenheimer
When not caring for patients, Butler enjoys woodworking, home improvement projects, spending time with his family, and traveling to the beach and the mountains.
