A Troutman Middle School teacher who was arrested last month faces two additional charges as a result of an ongoing investigation by the Mooresville Police Department.
Kyle Christopher McKay, 37, was charged with one count of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor on July 23 after a 15-year-old female told the MPD that McKay solicited nude photos of her through the SnapChat app.
Following his arrest, McKay was transported to the Iredell County Detention Center and given a $100,000 secured bond.
On July 29, McKay was charged with two counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. The warrants were served on McKay while he was already in custody at the Iredell County Detention Center. He was given an additional $40,000 secured bond.

McKay was suspended with pay by Iredell-Statesville Schools following his arrest. He has been employed as teacher at Troutman Middle School since August of 2015.
