The N.C. Department of Transportation will close a section of an Iredell County road for four months starting next week.

Beginning March 15, Friendship Road will be closed in both directions between Fourwheel Drive and Raider Road while crews replace the bridge over Patterson Creek. Work is expected to be complete by July 30.

All traffic will be detoured onto Bussell Road and back to Friendship Road.

Motorists should use caution while approaching the work zone and plan for delays due to the detour.
