A Mooresville man faces drug trafficking charges in Iredell County after he was taken into custody on outstanding felony charges in Cabarrus County.
Iredell County Sheriff Darren Campbell announced the arrest of Trent Rashod Mangum, 24, in a news release Tuesday.
ICSO Deputy Chase Little conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at the intersection of Coddle Creek Highway and Fourtrax Drive, south of Mooresville, on Monday after learning the vehicle operator was wanted on outstanding arrest warrants, Campbell said.
After approaching the vehicle, the deputy spoke with Mangum and informed him about the outstanding arrest warrants. While searching Mangum, the deputy located and seized a pill bottle containing dosage units of Oxycodone Hydrochloride, Adderall, and Alprazolam, according to the news release.
Deputies then searched the vehicle and located marijuana and other items of drug paraphernalia, Campbell said.
Mangum was taken to the Iredell County Detention Center, where he was charged with Felony Trafficking Opium or Heroin by Possession, Felony Trafficking Opium or Heroin by Transport, Felony Possession With Intent to Sale or Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance (Oxycodone Hydrochloride), Felony Maintain a Vehicle for the Sale or Use of a Controlled Substance, Misdemeanor Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance (Adderall), Misdemeanor Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Substance (Alprazolam), Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana, Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of Marijuana Drug Paraphernalia.
Magistrate Thompson issued a $200,000 secured bond on those charges.
Mangum was also served with the following outstanding warrants from Cabarrus County: Felony Trafficking Opium or Heroin by Possession, Felony Possession With Intent to Sale or Deliver a Schedule IV Controlled Substance (Alprazolam), Felony Possession With Intent to Sale or Deliver a Schedule I Controlled Substance (Ecstasy), Misdemeanor Maintain a Vehicle for the Sale or Use of a Controlled Substance, Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana, and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Magistrate Thompson issued an additional $150,000 secured bond on those charges.
