Town of Mooresville employee Jeff Martin was recently selected for the new position of technology & innovation deputy director.
Martin has been employed with the Town of Mooresville for almost nine years, most recently as the network administrator. His vast experience in project management, strategic planning, and his creative problem-solving skills made him an easy choice for a promotion to the position that was created this fiscal year. Additionally, his Certified Government Chief Information Officer from UNC Chapel Hill School of Government and Project Management Professional certifications played a role in the appointment.
Martin has previously worked for the Mooresville Graded School District and Wachovia Bank.
When asked what his future goals are as he begins his new role, Martin said that he wanted to “continue building on what he started.”
“We’re very fortunate that the department has the support of our town board and our management team, as it allows us to do really innovative things,” he said. “We’re encouraged to seek out ways to build and grow our skill set, and I want to continue to do that, particularly in the area of cybersecurity.”
