The Mooresville Police Department has identified three suspects in the shooting death of Jacob Dean Koury, 23, of Cornelius on August 11 in Magla Park.
Two of the suspects have been arrested and charged in connection with this crime. Warrants have been issued for a third suspect, a 16-year-old juvenile, who is still wanted for involvement in the crime.
Jessica Cheyenne Nichols, 18, of Mooresville was arrested on August 13 and charged with first-degree murder and robbery with a Dangerous Weapon. Nichols was arrested at a residence in Hudson and transported back to Mooresville. She was placed in the Iredell County Detention Center with no bond.
James Samuel Jones Jr., 34, of Huntersville was arrested on August 16 and charged with first-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon. Jones was arrested at a residence just outside of Mooresville and placed in the Iredell County Detention Center with no bond.
“Detectives worked tirelessly during the investigation and were assisted by the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations, Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office, and the United States Marshal Service,” said MPD Assistant Chief Robert Dyson. “The assistance of these organizations, along with information received from the community, aided in quickly solving this crime.”
