City of Statesville government offices will be closed Monday, May 30, in observance of Memorial Day.

Garbage Collection

There will be no garbage collection on Monday.
The revised schedule for the week of May 30 – June 3 is as follows:
• Residential: Monday’s route will run on Tuesday; Tuesday and Wednesday routes will run Wednesday; and Thursday and Friday routes will operate on the same schedule
• Commercial: Monday and Tuesday routes will be collected on Tuesday; Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday routes will run on a regular schedule

Fitness & Activity Center & Leisure Pool

The Statesville Fitness & Activity Center will be closed on Memorial Day.

The Statesville Leisure Pool will open for the season on Saturday, May 28, with two sessions: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 4 to 8 p.m. It is open on Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m., and Memorial Day, with two sessions.

ABC Stores

The Statesville ABC Stores will be open on Memorial Day.

Summer Sanitation Schedule begins May 31

Statesville City Sanitation crews will start running their routes at 6 a.m., beginning Tuesday, May 31.

During the summer, the department moves up their starting time in order to complete their routes before the heat of the day. Sanitation customers are reminded to put their carts on the curb the night before their pick-up day so their trash and recycling are not missed.
