Special to Iredell Free News
The City of Statesville is working to develop a plan for improving the stability and ecological health of Free Nancy Branch.
Free Nancy Branch flows through the heart of Statesville and is very important to the local environment of the community.
The Stormwater Division of the Public Works Department has scheduled walk-in meetings to gather input from citizens on Thursday, September 15; Thursday, October 20; and Thursday, November 17. The meetings will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Statesville Fitness & Activity Center, located at 1875 Simonton Road.
City staff will have maps showing the creek and surrounding properties so that citizens can highlight project needs and speak with the watershed team, which welcomes input on how to improve the creek and surrounding streets and greenways in a sustainable way.
Residents are asked to bring photos and ideas to this meeting.
