The Charles Mack Citizen Center’s recent make-over has earned the facility the “Top New or Renovated Meeting Site Award” by Convention South. The hospitality organization announced The Charles Mack Citizen Center as a winner in the December 2021 issue of its magazine, Convention South, as part of the recognition. The news was shared at the February 21 meeting of Mooresville’s Town Board of Commissioners.
Over the last two years, The Charles Mack Citizen Center has updated carpeting, paint, flooring, furniture, interior doors, chair rails, and fixtures. The addition of a walking art tour that features local artists has garnered more foot traffic at the facility and provides an interesting activity for event attendees. The second phase of renovations will include lighting and public area furniture to be completed this year.
“After a lengthy review of what The Charles Mack Citizen Center now has to offer meeting planners and attendees, we feel it indeed displays a superior commitment to providing groups with the top-of-the-line amenities and service that they require,” Convention South Associate Publisher Ashleigh Osborne said.
The Charles Mack Citizen Center is among an elite list of 54 meeting facilities located across the South to receive this year’s “Top New or Renovated Meeting Site Award.”
The renovations are part of a larger initiative to improve the facility’s offerings for the local community and attract new customers from out-of-town. The Charles Mack Citizen Center’s manager, Christine Patterson, said, “We are excited to have been nominated by our peers in the hospitality industry and to be the recipient of the ‘Top New or Renovated Meeting Site’ award. Our goal is to continue to exceed the expectations of our guests and optimize The Charles Mack Citizen Center’s amenities to meet the needs of the community.”
Convention South magazine is based in Gulf Shores, Alabama, and is celebrating more than 35 years as a leading meeting planner resource. The magazine is distributed to more than 18,000 meeting professionals located across the country, who book meetings held within the South.
