A total of 953 Iredell-Statesville Schools students missed school during the latest reporting period after testing positive for COVID-19, exhibiting symptoms or being excluded because they were a close contact with someone else who tested positive.

COVID-19 also continued to impact staffing in I-SS schools with 48 employees testing positive, 29 being excluded due to being a close contact and 97 isolating after exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19.

According to the latest I-SS COVID-19 report, which covers January 21-27, only one of the confirmed cases of COVID-19 in district schools was a result of transmission in schools.

However, at least one person at 29 district schools tested positive during the reporting period.
