The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office is seeking assistance in identifying a subject involved in an armed robbery at a business at 2159 Old Mountain Road near Statesville.

Around 8 p.m. Sunday, a man entered the business, assaulted an employee and stole an item before leaving quickly in a vehicle, according to the ICSO.  The vehicle was a purple Scion XB with a handicap placard and a temporary license plate.

The suspect is described as a bald and heavyset black male, approximately 5-feet-11-inches tall.
