Iredell health officials reported 454 new laboratory confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Friday, increasing the total number of cases in the county since the onset of the pandemic to 35,782.

Eigthy-seven people who have tested positive are currently hospitalized in Iredell hospitals, including 71 county residents.

According to the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention, Iredell’s seven-day positivity rate climbed to 27.28 percent on Friday.

Thirteen deaths have been attributed to Iredell County in the past seven days, according to the CDC.

No new deaths were reported Friday.
