More than 500 deaths in Iredell County have now been attributed to COVID-19.

The Iredell County Health Department, which provides a weekly report on deaths each Wednesday, reported that three more individuals passed away during the seven-day period ending August 28. A total of 501 deaths have now been attributed to COVID-19 in Iredell.

Health officials reported a total of four deaths attributed to COVID-19 in August on the heels of nine deaths in July.

Thirteen people who have tested positive for COVID-19 were hospitalized in Iredell hospitals as of Friday afternoon.

Health officials reported 408 new laboratory confirmed cases of COVID-19 last week in Iredell County. Since the onset of the pandemic in March of 2020, there has been a total of 55,594 confirmed cases in Iredell.
