Jason Gardner, Mooresville Graded School District’s next superintendent, will officially begin his duties on Monday, August 8.
Gardner, who is currently working as interim superintendent for Rowan-Salisbury Schools, will finish work for that district on Friday, August 5.
The MGSD Board of Education is excited that Gardner will be on board when the 2022-2023 school year begins for students on August 10. The board expressed its confidence that the transition will go smoothly due to Gardner’s previous experience with the district and the assistance of Interim Superintendent/Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Instruction Dr. Michael Royal.
“I am excited to get to work as superintendent of the Mooresville Graded School District and ensuring that we are providing an excellent education for every child, every day!” Gardner said in a statement.
Gardner succeeds Stephen Mauney, who retired in June.
