ESC Park in Troutman was hopping on Saturday morning with hundreds of kids and their families joining in the annual Troutman Parks and Recreation Easter Egg Hunt fun. After a brief morning rain, skies cleared in time for the planned activities to begin.

Town Manager Ron Wyatt and Councilman George Harris welcomed the crowd to the day’s additional activities, including visits and pictures with the Easter Bunny and Troutman police officers, inflatable slide and obstacle course, face painting, assorted yard games, and playground fun.

For safety, the egg hunts were divided into three age groups, with toddler and young children on either side of the pavilion and those nine and older hunting for eggs along the Troutman Rotary Club Nature Trail.

Parks and Recreation Director Chip Smith thanked Pat Parker, owner of Southern Treats in Troutman and Pat’s Place in Statesville, for the Easter eggs, Easter baskets and the golden eggs for special prizes. He also thanked Beth Merner for providing Easter eggs.
