Two Catawba County women face drug trafficking charges following their arrest by members of the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Aggressive Criminal Enforcement Team.

Sheriff Darren Campbell announced the arrests of Taylor Lena Godshall, 24, of 23rd Street, Hickory, and Erin Ashley Thompson, 47, of East Bandys Crossing Road, Catawba, in a news release on Thursday.

On Monday, May 16, narcotics investigators assigned to the ICSO ACE Team received information that Godshall and Thompson would be at a gas station on Old Mocksville Road and in possession of controlled substances.

ICSO personnel established surveillance and saw Godshall and Thompson arrive at the location, according to the news release. After positively identifying the two suspects and confirming they had the narcotics, ACE Team deputies arrested the two women without incident, Campbell said.

Investigators seized 24.56 grams of fentanyl and crystal methamphetamine were seized from the two suspects, according to the news release. The estimated street value of the seized narcotics was $3,000.

The two suspects were then taken to the Iredell County Detention Center.

Godshall was charged with Felony Trafficking Fentanyl by Sale, two counts of Felony Trafficking Fentanyl by Transportation, two counts of Felony Trafficking Fentanyl by Possession, Felony Possession of Crystal Methamphetamine, and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She appeared before Magistrate Thompson, who issued a $350,000 secured bond.

Thompson was charged with Felony Conspiracy to Traffic Fentanyl. She also appeared before Magistrate Thompson, who issued a $50,000 secured bond on this charge.
