Statesville Police Department recognizes three officers during promotion ceremony

The Statesville Police Department honored three officers during a promotional ceremony held by Chief David Onley on Monday at Statesville City Hall.

Marc Carmona was promoted from sergeant to captain. He is assigned as the District 2 Captain. Carmona
attended and completed BLET at the N.C. Justice Academy, worked for the City of Henderson Police Department from 2004-2007, and has been employed by the SPD for 15 years.

Harold Sexton was promoted from corporal to sergeant and is assigned to Alpha Patrol Squad. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps prior to completing BLET at Mitchell Community College and has been employed by the SPD for 10 years.

David Benge was promoted from officer to corporal and is assigned to Alpha Patrol Squad. He completed BLET at Mitchell Community College and has been employed by the SPD for four years.
