Two Charlotte men face felony charges after being stopped in a stolen U-Haul truck by a Troutman police officer early Friday morning.
About 4:15 a.m. Friday, Sgt. Chad Trivitte located a U-Haul truck that was reported as stolen from Charlotte in the area of Julian Place and Charlotte Highway, according to a TPD news release.
After pulling over the vehicle, he came into contact with Allen Goodman Jr., 59, and Kenneth Donnell Gregory, 50. Both men were arrested at the scene.
During this traffic stop and the subsequent arrest, Sgt. Trivitte located 13.2 grams of crack cocaine along with a small amount of marijuana, according to the news release.
Goodman was charged with Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was also served with an outstanding warrant from Mecklenburg County. He was ordered by a magistrate to be held on a $21,000 secured bond.
Gregory was charged with Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle and Possession of Marijuana. He was ordered by a magistrate to be held on a $10,000 secured bond.
According to the TPD, Goodman has a previous conviction of Felony Conspiracy to Commit Larceny, and Gregory has previous convictions of First-Degree Kidnapping, Obtaining Property by False Pretense, Larceny of a Motor Vehicle, and Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon.
