Deputy Jaime Welborn has been promoted to youth program education deputy and canine handler with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.

She will bring the ICSO Mobile Classroom into the community to provide information about the use of impairing substances, gang activity, technology safety, and prescription drug and illegal narcotics use.

Deputy Welborn and her partner Tito will work closely with ICSO school resource officers and make regular visits to schools throughout Iredell County.

A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Deputy Welborn has worked in law enforcement since 2000. She earned her Advanced Law Enforcement Training Certification, Hostage Negotiator Certification, School Resource Officer Certification, and a Certified Community Police Officer Certificate from the North Carolina Justice Academy.
