The Mooresville Graded School District Board of Education has approved the appointment of Morgan Williams as the district’s new director of maintenance.
Williams comes to MGSD from Catawba County Schools, where he started his career in 2012 as the health and environmental coordinator within the Maintenance Department. He then transitioned to the assistant director of construction and maintenance, a position he held through 2022. In that role, Williams managed over 100 employees and worked closely with school principals and district leadership to ensure buildings were safe and effective learning environments.
He received the Administrator of the Year Award for 2020 – 2021 for the role he played in assisting the school system in school operations during the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2023, he took on a new role in the Finance Department as the assistant finance officer.
Williams received his bachelor’s degree from UNC-Charlotte in Environmental Science earned his Masters of Business Administration from Gardner-Webb University.
In his spare time, Williams enjoys spending time with his wife and daughters and spending time outdoors. He serves as the president of Keep Catawba County Beautiful and is also a member of the Catawba County Library Advisory Board.
