Voters in Ward 6 selected a new representative on the Statesville City Council and Eddie Karriker garnered the most votes in the race for the open at-large seat on the Mooresville Board of Town Commissioners in Tuesday’s municipal elections.
While voters in Statesville Wards 1 and 4 re-elected David Jones and Amy Lawton to their seats, challenger Lisa Pearson toppled Frederick Foster in the Ward 6 contest.
In Mooresville, Karriker and Frank Owens were the leading vote-getters in a six-candidate field for the seat being vacated by Bobby Compton, who is running for mayor. Karriker and Owens will square off in the November election.
Less than 3.5 percent of eligible voters in Iredell County participated in Tuesday’s election. A total of 1,608 ballots were cast; 46,134 individuals were eligible to vote.

Aww looks like the puppet master doesn’t have the ability to get people elected like he thought. His poor buddy only got 4 votes.
The real truth if you are Caucasian or of another race you will never get elected to Ward 6. That’s history plus the guy running for office was never coached by the gentleman. He’s just friends with him, okay. lol. Nobody really votes — only friends — and her family live in that community and a lot of the voters from the church in the community. It’s the big joke of a community in the state of N.C. lol. Only 70 some people voted.
It’s called community support. Congratulations Lisa Pearson!
