Pellegrino’s Trattoria will be hosting a visit from America’s Best Restaurants in mid-December 2023.
The Troutman restaurant is owned by Roberto and Giovanni Pellegrino. The brothers all relocated from the New York-New Jersey area to North Carolina, along with many other members of their family. They opened Pellegrino’s Trattoria in Troutman in 2008.
“When in Italy, you travel to Rome. When in NC, you travel to Pellegrino’s Trattoria,” their website states.
The restaurant offers an extensive menu featuring numerous pizza varieties, stromboli and calzone, pasta, Italian specialty entrees and desserts. A popular item that may be featured on the episode is the Jumbo Stuffed Meatball, an iconic two-pounder stuffed with mozzarella cheese and served over pasta.
America’s Best Restaurants, a national media and marketing company focusing on bringing attention to local, independently-owned restaurants, will bring its ABR Roadshow to the restaurant on December 15. Popular dishes will be highlighted, along with an extensive on-camera interview with owners and Salvatore, Roberto and Giovanni Pellegrino about the restaurants’ special place in the community. The episodes will be aired extensively on social media channels at a later date.
The restaurant’s episode premiere date will be announced on their Facebook page and will be featured on America’s Best Restaurants’ website.
Restaurants featured on the ABR Roadshow are found through customer nominations or by a restaurant applying to be featured at www.americasbestrestaurants.com.

If they think they make and sell authentic Italian food, they are sadly mistaken. To think, they came from the NYC area, the mecca of fine Italian food and dining. They would be laughed out of NYC with their current quality of food.
Fabulous Italian food!! Happy they are being recognized!!
I grew up one town away from where they were previous located in New Jersey. They are one of the best Northern-style pizzas I have found here yet. It is hard to come anywhere close to a New York City style pizza due to the dough, but if you’re going to compare anything around here they are second to none.
