FROM STAFF REPORTS
East Iredell Elementary School’s Family Reading night was both fun and successful, organizers said.
Reading Nights are designed to show students and their families the value of reading. It’s also a chance for parents to meet and interact with their child’s teacher.
Students arrived for the event dressed in their favorite book character costume. Teachers and staff also dressed up as characters from their favorite books.
Principal Jennifer Ribbeck, who was dressed up as Waldo from Where’s Waldo, welcomed all students and their families.
Third- and fourth-graders performed songs for everyone in attendance. The school served pizza and students made their own bookmarks. Students could also participate in the book walk. There was a literacy pumpkin patch contest and the event concluded with a candy walk.
Thank you for encapsulating the essence of Family Reading Night at East Iredell Elementary so vividly through words and pictures. It’s delightful to see the community come together to foster a love for reading in young minds. The costumes add a fun and engaging dimension to the event, making learning enjoyable. Looking forward to more such inspiring events and the subsequent coverage on your platform!
