RALEIGH — N.C. House Speaker Tim Moore announced committee assignments for the 2023-2024 session.

Rep. Jeff McNeely (R-Iredell) has been appointed to serve on the following committees:

• Agriculture (Chair);
• Transportation (Chair);
• Appropriations;
• Appropriations – Agriculture and Natural and Economic Resources;
• Environment; and
• Oversight Reform

“As an agri-businessman by trade, I am excited to serve as Chair of the Agriculture Committee,” McNeely said. “I look forward to digging into legislation that will affect agriculture and transportation in our state.”

Committees will meet at the direction of the committee chairs to discuss legislation that is relevant to the specific policy area. Members of each committee will be able to debate bills heard in that committee, propose changes to bill language, and vote on whether bills should advance.

McNeely, who represents the 84th District, was officially sworn in for the 2023-2024 session on January 11.

“It is such an honor to be able to continue my service to the people of District 84,” McNeely said. “I am eager to return to work with my colleagues to continue our work serving the great people of this state.”
