Iredell County Sheriff Darren Campbell announced the arrest of Terrell Joseph Williams, 34, of Ship Street, Charlotte, in a news release Tuesday.

Williams’ arrest stems from an ICSO investigation into three incidents at Carolina KTM, a dealership located at 1281 River Highway.

On October 26, 2022, a report was filed with the Sheriff’s Office in reference to suspicious people walking around the fenced property of Carolina KTM and setting off the security alarm, according to the news release.

On November 2, 2022, a report was filed by Carolina KTM in reference to a breaking and entering that had occurred. Twelve motorcycles and seven battery-operated bikes were stolen with a total loss worth $126,848, Campbell said.

On November 16, ICSO deputies responded to an alarm at Carolina KTM. Due to the quick response of patrol deputies, another breaking and entering was prevented. The suspects fled the scene in a stolen Penske truck which had been parked at a business next door, according to the news release.

Detective K. Sherard was assigned all three cases. During the investigation, Detective Sherard obtained camera footage from surrounding businesses that showed a suspect vehicle and a box truck on two different occasions. A positive vehicle identification was made of the suspect vehicle, which was registered to Williams, according to the news release.

Through evidence obtained in multiple search warrants, investigators determined that Williams was at Carolina KTM during the time of the breaking and entering, Campbell said. This information was verified through the camera footage that was obtained by Detective Sherard, according to the news release.

Based upon all the evidence gathered during this investigation, Detective Sherard obtained felony arrest warrants charging Williams with two counts of Felony Breaking and or Entering, Felony Breaking and or Entering a Trailer, 12 counts of Felony Larceny of a Motor Vehicle, and seven counts of Felony Larceny.

He was served with the warrants on February 22.

Williams is currently in custody at the Union County Jail in Monroe under a $6.37 million bond on the Iredell County charges and charges in other counties. He is a suspect in five other agencies’ investigations of similar types of crimes, including armed robbery and breaking and entering, Campbell said.
