FROM STAFF REPORTS
Four suspects face multiple felony drug charges following an Iredell County Sheriff’s Office investigation that culminated with a raid on two homes.
Sheriff Darren Campbell said narcotics investigators received information that the occupants of residences at 120 Deep Water Road and 124 Fox Run Drive were manufacturing crystal methamphetamine and distributing narcotics in the area.
Undercover investigators conducted surveillance operations in the area and obtained the evidence necessary to obtain search warrants for both residences, according to an ICSO news release.
On Wednesday, April 19, narcotics investigators, along with members of the ICSO Interstate Criminal Enforcement Team, Criminal Investigations Division and Patrol Division, executed search warrants at 120 Deep Water Road and 124 Fox Run Drive.
During the search, ICSO personnel located “Shake and Bake” crystal methamphetamine and items used to manufacture crystal methamphetamine inside the residence at 120 Deep Water Road, Campbell said. Investigators also discovered a burn pile containing evidence indicating someone had attempted to destroy a methamphetamine lab at 120 Deep Water Road, according to the news release.
“This is the first methamphetamine lab that investigators have encountered in over three years here in Iredell County because the cost of crystal methamphetamine is almost at an all-time low,” Campbell said.
Investigators also located three 10-gallon air compressors, a 6-gallon air compressor, a pressure washer, and a four-piece sectional outdoor dining set, the sheriff said. All the items are believed to have been stolen from Walmart. Investigators contacted the retailer to confirm that the items were missing from their inventory.
