FROM STAFF REPORTS
A Statesville man faces multiple drug charges after being stopped for a motor vehicle violation by an Iredell County Sheriff’s Office deputy.
Sheriff Darren Campbell announced the arrest of Alexander David Busby, 32, of Bethesda Road, Statesville, in a news release.
Deputy C. Wilson conducted a traffic stop on Salisbury Highway at Fanjoy Road on a Silver Acura operated by Busby on Sunday, April 9, Campbell said.
A search of the vehicle was conducted and Deputy Wilson located 11.73 grams of methamphetamine, marijuana, Subutex, and items of drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle, according to the news release.
Busby was arrested and transported to the Iredell County Detention Center, where he was charged with Felony Possession of Methamphetamine, Felony Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Methamphetamine, Felony Maintain a Vehicle for a Controlled Substance, Misdemeanor Possession of a Schedule III Controlled Substance, Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana, two counts of Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Misdemeanor Driving While License Revoked.
Busby is currently on Probation for Felony Larceny of a Motor Vehicle.
Just another felon out on probation from a former conviction.
This time he was pulled over in a vehicle full of drugs and charged with numerous other felonies.
I’ll wish there was a willingness to put these people away. Not just take their money then release them only to go commit additional felonies. And we wonder why there is a drug problem in our society..,,,,,,,,
