Two individuals face felony charges after Iredell County Sheriff’s Office deputies seized methamphetamine, prescription pills, marijuana wax, a weapon of mass destruction and drug paraphernalia from a home in northern Iredell County.
The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office began investigating on Wednesday, November 29, after deputies assigned to the Aggressive Criminal Enforcement Team received information through the ICSO app about the presence of illegal narcotics at 212 Snow Creek Road, Sheriff Darren Campbell said.
Deputy C. Wilson and Deputy B. Best responded to the residence and spoke with Wendy Benfield, Samantha Milam, and Samuel Price, all of who live in the home. While speaking with the three occupants, deputies observed drug paraphernalia, according to the sheriff.
After the deputies obtained a search warrant for the residence, narcotics investigators responded to the home and assisted in the search.
Benfield, 53, and Price, 49, were arrested for various felony drug charges and transported to the Iredell County Detention Center. Milam, 38 was issued a citation for Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana Drug Paraphernalia.
Benfield was charged with Felony Possession of Methamphetamine, Felony Maintaining a Vehicle for the Sale or Use of a Controlled Substance, Misdemeanor Possession of a Schedule III Controlled Substance, and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Samuel Price was charged with Felony Possession of a Weapon of Mass Destruction and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Benfield and Price appeared before Magistrate Thompson, who issued a $7,500 secured bond on their charges.
