Special to IFN

The 14th Annual Mooresville/Lake Norman Turkey Trot, presented by Mooresville Ford, is scheduled for November 28.

This 5K race supports The Christian Mission in its efforts to break the cycle of poverty. Organizers hope to raise $85,000 in recognition of the nonprofit’s 85 years of service to the community.

This year’s event is expected to have upwards of 2,000 participants. All participants will receive a custom race bib provided by Your Personal Best Fitness Studio and awards presented to overall and age category winners.

In addition to the 5K, there will be a Kids Fun Run, Zumba, Vendors, and more.

The Turkey Trot is more than just a race; it’s an opportunity for friends, families, and neighbors to come together to support those in need. Proceeds from this event will directly benefit The Christian Mission, a 501c3, nonprofit organization that provides crisis assistance, case management, educational programming, and community engagement.

The Christian Mission provides vital resources, including food, clothing, shelter, life skills, and educational programming to over 4,000 individuals and families in our area.

“Every step taken in the Turkey Trot helps us take a step closer to ending poverty in our community,” said Development Associate Sarah McMurry. “We invite everyone to join us in this meaningful event, whether you’re running, walking, or cheering from the sidelines. Together, we can make a difference!”
