Special to IFN

The organizing committee of the Mooresville Fondo is thrilled to announce plans for the 2nd Annual Mooresville Fondo, which will return to Downtown Mooresville on September 8.

Capitalizing on the excitement around the inaugural fondo in 2023, which attracted over 200 riders, the Mooresville Fondo is poised to become a highly anticipated event for the Mooresville community.

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and the Top of the Lake Rotary Club will receive significant proceeds from the event.

With Mooresville Realty, Visit Mooresville, Edifice General Contractors, and Randy Marion as presenting sponsors, organizers have already raised $50,000 toward their goal of $125,000.

The Mooresville Fondo caters to cyclists of all skill levels, offering three distinct rides: a 25-mile route, a 50-mile route, and a 75-mile route. This exciting event is designed to create an inclusive and vibrant atmosphere that embodies the spirit of Mooresville.

Each dollar raised will directly contribute to enhancing the event and supporting the invaluable work of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, an organization dedicated to saving lives and providing hope to those affected by suicide. Additionally, the Top of the Lake Rotary Club seeks to foster connections, create opportunities, and promote positive change through its diverse projects and initiatives.

In addition to the thrilling bike rides, the Mooresville Fondo will feature post-ride celebrations for participants. Attendees can enjoy food, drinks, vendors, and music, creating a festive atmosphere for participants and spectators alike.

Raffle

Thanks to The Mill Cyclery, there will also be a raffle for two bicycles: a Speedster Gravel 10 and a Momentum Transend Mid-Step E Bike. Tickets are available through the Mooresville Fondo website. The cost for a single ticket is $25 or $100 for five tickets. You do not have to be a rider to participate.

Sponsorship Opportunities

To further encourage community participation, organizers have launched a community-level sponsorship initiative. If 250 people donate $250 each, the event will raise an additional $62,500 towards its sponsorship goal.
