Special to Iredell Free News
Downtown Statesville Development Corporation and the Iredell Arts Council are teaming up to bring “Make Music Day” to Downtown Statesville on Friday, June 21.
The event, which runs from 12 to 8 p.m., is part of a global initiative spanning more than 1,000 cities in 120 countries and is believed to be the biggest one-day music celebration ever.
Unlike traditional music festivals, where only a select few take the stage, everyone — regardless of age or skill level — is invited to take part in the Statesville event.
Downtown Statesville will be transformed into a vibrant hub of musical expression. From classical to rap, percussion to piano, and everything in between, the diverse sounds that make our community unique will be on display. There will be music inside businesses and outdoors on the sidewalk, as well as on street corners, in Pecan Park, on church steps, and everywhere else you can imagine.
What to Expect
♦ Open Jam Sessions: Bring your instrument and jam with fellow musicians. No auditions, no restrictions—just pure musical collaboration.
♦ Performance Opportunities: Whether you’re a seasoned performer or a newcomer, you are welcome to showcase your talent at various indoor and outdoor stages.
♦ Music Classes: From beginner workshops for children to advanced sessions for songwriters and musicians, there’s something for everyone to learn and explore.
♦ Community Engagement: We’re spreading the joy of music to every corner of Downtown Statesville, creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for all.
