The City of Statesville on Thursday lifted all voluntary and mandatory water-use restrictions as a result of recent rainfall across the region.
The N.C. Drought Management Advisory Council has moved the Statesville area back to D-0 status, which means the area is considered abnormally dry. This designation is based on data from the U.S. Drought Monitor of North Carolina.
As a result, residents and businesses can resume their normal water usage without any limitations.
City officials expressed their appreciation to residents who helped conserve water during the recent drought period.
The latest drought map shows the northeast corner of Iredell County remains in the area designated as Moderate Drought.
