The Iredell County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 10 held its annual Cops  Kid&s program at the Statesville Walmart on December 12.

Eighty-five children were taken shopping this year thanks to the fundraising efforts of the Lodge and President Rodney James. Active and retired officers from the Statesville, Troutman, New York City police departments and the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office assisted the children, who shopped for new clothes and other items.

Once they were done shopping, the children received a winter coat that was donated by Stitch 98 for every child and adult who needed one. Toys that were donated by the membership of the Lodge and the Toys for Tots program. Several other needy families were also given toys and winter coats.

The Lodge was able to give back over $16,000 to the community from funds raised in 2024.
