The N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles will reopen a license plate agency in Mooresville on Tuesday, August 20.

The office closed on February 14 after the previous operator’s contract ended.

The agency, which will be operated by Jameson Johnson, will be located at 186 N. Broad Street, Suite 12, in Mooresville.

The office will be open on Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., except on state holidays.

In North Carolina, the NCDMV oversees license plate agencies, but the agencies are managed by private businesses or local governments.

License plate agencies offer vehicle registration services and title transactions, as well as vehicle license plate renewals, replacement tags, handicap placards and duplicate registrations. There are 125 license plate agencies operating across North Carolina.

Services such as property tax payments and registration renewals can also be completed online at MyNCDMV.gov.
