A former Iredell-Statesville Schools assistant principal received a suspended prison sentence and supervised probation after being convicted of a pair of felony sex charges in Iredell County Superior Court.

Shaun Bock

Shaun Michael Bock, 32, entered an Alford plea to second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and indecent liberties with a student on July 22. In an Alford plea, a defendant maintains his innocence while acknowledging that there is sufficient evidence for a finding of guilt.

Under the terms of a plea agreement, Judge Joseph Crosswhite imposed a suspended sentence of 20 to 36 months in prison. Bock will be on supervised probation for 36 months and must register as a sex offender. He was ordered to have no contact with his two victims.

Bock was working as the assistant principal at Coddle Creek Elementary School when he was arrested in early February of 2021 following an investigation by the Mooresville Police Department. He had worked for I-SS for about seven months.

Assistant District Attorney Regina Mahoney prosecuted the case. Bock was represented by defense attorney Timothy Cannady.
