Iredell-Statesville Schools Superintendent Jeff James announced the appointment of two new principals on Tuesday:
I-SS Virtual Academy
Yolanda Lindsay, assistant principal at the I-SS Virtual Academy, has been named principal of the school. With the growing enrollment of the virtual academy, a full-time principal was needed to support the staff and students at the school.
Lindsay began her teaching career in the Bovina Independent School District in Texas. She has served the students and staff in I-SS since 2008 as a teacher, literacy coach, instructional facilitator, and assistant principal. She holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Eastern New Mexico University and a master’s degree in executive leadership from Gardner-Webb University.
“I am thrilled beyond words to embark on this journey as the I-SS Virtual Academy principal,” Lindsay said. “I am looking forward to working with our amazing staff to inspire, innovate, and empower our students in the years to come!”
N.B. Mills Elementary School
Sally Schultz, assistant principal at Cloverleaf Elementary School, has been named the principal of N.B. Mills Elementary School. She will succeed interim principal Billy Thompson.
Before her time in Iredell-Statesville Schools, Schultz served as an administrative intern and lead teacher at Knox Middle School and a teacher at Hanford Dole Elementary School in the Rowan-Salisbury School System. She holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Catawba College and a master’s degree in educational leadership from Western Governors University.
“I’m really excited to join the N.B. Mills team,” stated Schultz. “I look forward to getting to know the students, staff, and community.”
The Board of Education approved both appointments Monday night. Lindsay and Schultz will begin their new roles on July 1.
