The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office announced the death of retired ICSO Canine Lucky earlier this week.
The 11-year-old German shepherd passed away peacefully with his devoted partner, Deputy Luke Davis, by his side.
Canine Lucky was medically retired in May 2024 after being diagnosed with a nerve disorder that had been slowly affecting his health. Surrounded by love and care in his final days, Lucky leaves a legacy of loyalty and service that will not soon be forgotten.
“We extend our deepest condolences to Deputy Davis and everyone who had the privilege of knowing Lucky,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
So sorry for the loss of Lucky. Sending love & prayers to his family🙏 Thank you for your dedication & service. Death leaves a heartache no one can heal. Love leaves a memory no one can steal🕊🌈
Now Lucky is chasing squirrels and rabbits in heaven.
RIP, Lucky! Thank you for your service. You have crossed the rainbow bridge!
So sorry for your loss. Thank you for your service. RIP.
