The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office recently hosted a graduation ceremony for participants of the 2024 Teen Academy.
Over the course of seven sessions, the teens gained invaluable knowledge about various aspects of the Sheriff’s Office. They learned about everything from crime scene investigation to traffic stops and had hands-on experiences with the Canine Unit and SERT Team. Participants also had the opportunity to take a ride on the Sheriff’s Office boat and see the ICSO ROV and Drone in action.
Deputies and detectives shared their expertise, contributing to the teens’ experience and understanding of the day-to-day operations of the ICSO.
Iredell County Board of Commissioners Chair Melissa Neader joined parents of teens for the graduation ceremony.
“The 2024 Teen Academy had the largest number in attendance thus far, and the impact made on these teens is truly remarkable,” Sheriff Darren Campbell said. “These kids are our future leaders, and they will take away so many valuable experiences from this academy.”
