Nominations are now being accepted for prospective inductees to the Class of 2024 for the Iredell County Sports Hall of Fame.
The ninth class will be inducted at the annual banquet on May 20, 2024. Nomination forms as well as a detailed explanation for the criteria for a candidate are available at iredellsportshalloffame.org.
New nominations to be considered for this year’s class must be submitted by midnight on March 1, 2024.
Applications and/or nominations arriving after that deadline will be accepted and considered for induction in 2025 or later. Once submitted a nomination remains on file with the committee; each one is reconsidered every year during the month of March.
Up to five inductees will be selected to the Class of 2024 as well as a selection for a Community Service inductee, an individual who has made substantial contributions to sports in Iredell County not necessarily as an athlete or coach.
The committee strives to include a least one veteran selection and at least one female representative in each class. Applications are being sought for athletes and coaches in the era before the consolidation of county schools in 1965-66 from schools such as Scotts, Central, Cool Spring, Celeste Henkel, etc.
Applications and Nominations may be mailed to Iredell County Sports Hall of Fame, 386 Brook Glen Drive, Mooresville, NC 28115 or sent as an email attachment to director@icshof.org
