Yevette Reed has been named director of the hospital-based skilled nursing facility at Iredell Health System.

Yevette Reed

Reed brings over 25 years of experience in healthcare, part of which was spent as a director of nursing along with working in different leadership capacities. Her experience includes several Level 1 trauma centers, skilled nursing facilities and as regional director of nursing in various states. She has also been a professor at Catawba College.

Reed earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Master of Business Administration, and Master of Healthcare Management from the University of Michigan. She was a delegate for the Michigan Nursing Association and a member of various North Carolina leadership committees.

“I’m excited to work with the great leadership team and see Iredell Health System grow,” said Reed.

As a leader of skilled nursing, Reed will be responsible for the everyday operation of Iredell Health System’s hospital-based skilled nursing facility. This 48-bed facility provides short-stay nursing care to those who are not ill enough to be admitted to an acute care hospital but are too ill to go home or to be cared for in a free-standing nursing facility.

Iredell Health System was the first hospital in North Carolina to apply for and receive a certificate of need for this type of care. In 2024, the facility was named one of the best Nursing Homes by U.S. News & World Report — a status earned by only 19 percent of skilled nursing facilities worldwide. Iredell Skilled Nursing achieved an overall rating of five out of five and has a short-term rehabilitation rating of High Performing, the highest possible score.

Iredell Health System leadership is excited to bring Reed’s skills and care to the team.

“With Yevette’s extensive experience, leadership, and dedication to quality care, she will be instrumental in ensuring the heist standards of patient care for our residents,” said Joshua Self, Iredell Health System’s vice president of operations. “We look forward to the positive impact she will bring to our team and the community.”
