A Mooresville man has been sentenced to more than 25 years in prison for his role in the August 2021 robbery and murder of a Cornelius man.
Isaiah Immanuel Nichols, 19, pleaded guilty to Second-Degree Murder, Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon and Conspiracy in connection with the death of Jacob Dean Koury, 23, whose body was found in Mooresville’s Magla Park on August 11, 2021.
A judge sentenced Nichols, who was 16 years old at the time he committed the crimes, to 240 to 300 months in prison for followed by 60 to 84 months in prison for robbery and conspiracy.
Other Cases
The District Attorney’s Office announced dispositions in the following cases, which were heard during the August 12 term of Iredell County Superior Court:
♦ Scottie Davidson was convicted after a jury trial of Failing to Report a New Address as a Sex Offender and Habitual Felon and was sentenced to 78 to 106 months in prison.
♦ David Merritt pleaded guilty to Trafficking in Opium or Heroin and Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Methamphetamine and was sentenced to 70 to 93 months in prison and was ordered to pay a $50,000 fine.
♦ Justin Ostwalt pleaded guilty to Trafficking in Opium or Heroin and Possession of Firearm by Felon and was sentenced to 70 to 93 months in prison and was ordered to pay a $50,000 fine.
♦ Torrey Stockton pleaded guilty to four counts of Possession of Cocaine and Altering or Destroying Criminal Evidence and was sentenced to consecutive sentences of 9 to 20 months, plus 8 to 19 months, plus 8 to 19 months, plus 8 to 19 months, plus 8 to 19 months in prison.
♦ Ronald Griffith pleaded guilty to Trafficking in Opium or Heroin, Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Schedule I Controlled Substance and Felony Maintaining a Place for Controlled Substances and was sentenced to 70 to 93 months in prison and was ordered to pay a $50,000 fine.
♦ Dustin Benge pleaded guilty to Attempted Trafficking in Fentanyl and was sentenced to 19 to 32 months in prison.
♦ Adrian Munoz pleaded guilty to Attempted Trafficking in Fentanyl and Possession of Firearm by Felon and was sentenced to 28 to 43 months in prison.
♦ Katricia Mack pleaded guilty to Felony Breaking or Entering and Larceny and was sentenced to 9 to 20 months in prison.
