FROM STAFF REPORTS
A Mooresville man faces a felony animal cruelty charge in connection with the death of a pet cat.
The Mooresville Police Department announced the arrest of Grayson Alexander Gregg, 25, of Lansing Circle, Mooresville, in a news release on Wednesday.
About 12:32 a.m. on Wednesday, MPD officers responded to a request for a welfare check. After arriving at the scene, officers were advised that the suspect had killed the reporting party’s cat by punching it in the head, police said.
Officers reviewed interior video camera footage provided by the reporting party and observed multiple instances of the suspect punching, restraining by body weight, and otherwise incapacitating the cat in question, according to the news release.
The cat did not survive its sustained injuries, police said.
Gregg was arrested and charged with felony cruelty to animals and placed in the Iredell County Detention Center under a $5,000 secured bond. He remained in custody late Wednesday afternoon.
I know he will be on the news again. It always starts with the little innocent animals so I wouldn’t be surprised to see this individual go for something bigger next time. Vile, disgusting, pathetic, useless people never change.
They should do that to him so he is lifeless. No one should ever be cruel to animals.
8 billion “humans” on the planet. Time to reset the bar and start euthanizing the ones like this and worse. A large segment of our species has become a disease to itself and the planet. Taking life as respectfully as possible for basic needs like food, or for defense of oneself and others is necessary. Taking life by unfortunate accident also tragically happens on rare occasion. Taking life for amusement like this should be an immediate cull from the gene pool.
