Mooresville Fire Rescue and Shepherds Volunteer Fire Department personnel responded to a report of a gas leak at 1459 River Highway at Queens Landing late Monday morning.

A contractor working on the property struck a 1,000-pound propane tank that was buried underground, causing a leak, around 11:26 a.m.

Mooresville Hazardous Materials Unit 1 was special called to the scene. Crews were able to stop the leak and then HazMat techs successfully burned off the remaining product in the tank.

No injuries were reported.
