Mooresville Police Department detectives are currently investigating an overnight shooting which resulted in the death of a Concord man.

About 11:14 p.m. on Sunday, MPD officers responded to a report of a shots fired at Meadowlark Glen Apartments.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found Clifton Cornelius Vandiver, 20, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds as a result of what appears to be an altercation between Vandiver and other parties, police said.

Vandiver was transported to Novant Huntersville, where he succumbed to his injuries.

MPD detectives are actively investigating the incident, interviewing witnesses, checking cameras in the area, and looking for additional evidence at the scene. 

No additional information was released early Monday morning.
