The Town of Mooresville invites the community to honor and celebrate the men and women who have served our country in the military through a series of events planned for November 4-14.

From ceremonies and remembrance walks to the annual Veterans Day Parade, these events provide meaningful opportunities to show gratitude and respect for America’s veterans.

Monday, November 4

POW/MIA Flag Processional & Ceremony
9 a.m.
Downtown Mooresville
Join us in honoring the sacrifices of prisoners of war and those missing in action. The processional will begin in front of Richard’s Coffee Shop (165 N. Main Street) and continue to Town Hall (413 N. Main Street), where a commemorative ceremony will be held.

Thursday, November 7

Veterans Breakfast
8 to 10 a.m.
Charles Mack Citizen Center
Veterans and their families are invited to a complimentary breakfast hosted by the Top of the Lake Rotary Club at the Charles Mack Citizen Center (215 N. Main Street). This is a time to come together, share stories, and enjoy a warm meal. RSVP is required to secure your spot. Saturday, November 9

One Nation Under God Luncheon
11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Richard’s Coffee Shop
Hosted by the Exchange Club of Mooresville/Lake Norman, this annual luncheon honors veterans with a free meal behind Richard’s Coffee Shop (165 N. Main Street). Each veteran may bring one guest. Please note that this event is limited to veterans and one guest.

Monday, November 11: Veterans Day

Glenwood Park Memorial Ceremony
11 a.m.
Glenwood Memorial Park
Gather at Glenwood Memorial Park (273 Glenwood Drive) for a special memorial ceremony honoring local veterans.

Veterans Day Parade – Honoring Hometown Heroes
1 p.m.
Downtown Mooresville
The community is invited to honor local veterans as the parade makes its way down Main Street. Main Street will be closed to traffic before and during the parade. To participate in the parade, register at mooresvillenc.gov/veteransday.

Richard’s Coffee Shop Kitchen Grand Re-Opening
2:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Richard’s Coffee Shop
After the parade, celebrate the grand re-opening of Richard’s Coffee Shop Kitchen at 165 N. Main Street, newly renovated by Lowe’s Home Improvement. Attendees can enjoy hot dogs and refreshments while commemorating this special moment for the iconic Mooresville coffee shop.

Thursday, November 14

Wreaths Across America
8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Richard’s Coffee Shop
Veterans, active-duty military personnel, their families, and community members are encouraged to stop by Richard’s Coffee Shop (165 N. Main Street) to view the beautiful Wreaths Across America mobile display and meet with representatives from Wreaths Across America. Learn about the nonprofit’s year-round volunteer efforts to support veterans and their families.

Be Someone’s Hero Blood Drive
9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Richard’s Coffee Shop
Honor our veterans by participating in a blood drive at Richard’s Coffee Shop (165 N. Main Street). Your donation can save lives and is a great way to give back to those who have served.
