The Morningside School Reunion Association, also known as the Morningside Alumni Association, awards scholarships each year to deserving students who meet the criteria of the association.

This includes being a relative of someone who attended Morningside, Alan D. Rutherford, or Race Street Schools. Each 2024 recipient received a $1,000 scholarship at the Morningside School Reunion Annual Banquet which was held earlier this year.

Scholarships were awarded to Davin Clark, Bryson Derting, Tyler Morrison, Freddie Rucker and Amiyah Williams.

These scholarships are achievable because of the diligent work of the Morningside Alumni Association, donations made to The Morningside Golden Tigers 100 Club, the annual Morningside Scholarship Golf Tournament and this year, Morningside Golden Tigers Sponsors, Fred Leon Tatum “The Tire Man”, Sonny and Scott Rankin of “Statesville Brick Company.”

The Morningside Alumni Association sponsors an annual Morningside Scholarship Golf Tournament each year which will be held in May of 2025. Avid golfers, Tony Johnson and Robert Day, whose parents attended Morningside School, coordinates the Morningside Alumni Associations Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament.

The Morningside School Reunion Association is extremely grateful to everyone who supports our various programs. We invite you to become a member of the Morningside School Reunion Association, where we believe in helping our youth move forward.
