A Weaverville man faces multiple felony charges after crashing a stolen truck into several vehicles while being pursued by Mooresville Police Department officers.
The MPD announced the arrest of Noah Alexander Zolnoski, 26, in a news release on Monday.
On Saturday, January 27, after receiving an alert from an automated license plate reader for a stolen Dodge truck, officers located the vehicle traveling westbound on Highway 150 near Iredell Avenue, police said.
After verifying that the stolen vehicle entry made by the Lincolnton Police Department was still valid, MPD officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the truck.
The driver of the Dodge truck refused to stop and continued west on Highway 150, reaching speeds close to 60 mph, police said.
Near the intersection of Highway 150 and McLelland Avenue, the stolen truck hit two uninvolved vehicles, according to the news release. The vehicle then struck a third uninvolved vehicle, and became inoperable due to damage from the collisions, police said.
Zolnoski, who was driving the truck, was taken into custody without further incident near Loc Doc Place.
The suspect was charged with Felony Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Felony Speeding to Elude Arrest, Felony Leaving the Scene of an Accident Involving Injury and Misdemeanor Reckless Driving to Endanger.
Zolnoski was placed in the Iredell County Detention Center under a $100,000 secured bond.
