The Mooresville Police Department will hold an Afternoon Out community event on Sunday, October 13, in Downtown Mooresville.
Scheduled from 2 to 5:30 p.m., this free, family friendly event is designed to bring law enforcement and residents together for fun activities, games, and food. Learn more about local businesses and organizations and watch engaging demonstrations.
Event attendees will be entered to win gift cards and prizes.

Car Seat Check
Wednesday, October 9
9 a.m. to 12 noon
♦ Location: Mooresville Public Library-West Branch (614 Brawley School Road)
♦ Details: Car seats and booster seats are essential to helping keep your children safe in the car! Stop by MPL West Branch to ensure your precious cargo’s seat is safely installed. ♦ Details: Get to know officers in your neighborhood! Ask questions and start a conversation without agendas or speeches.
Community Shred Event
Saturday, October 12
9 a.m. to 12 noon
♦ Location: Mooresville Police Department (2847 Charlotte Highway)
♦ Details: Safely dispose of old receipts, bills, and other documents containing personal or financial information for free! This event will be held rain or shine. Limit of two bank boxes per person. Visit MPD Facebook (@MooresvillePoliceDepartment) for event traffic flow information.

♦ Details: Get to know officers in your neighborhood! Residents of all ages are invited to enjoy a cool treat and learn more about how MPD serves our community.
911 for Kids
Monday, October 14
10:30- to 11:30 a.m.
♦ Location: Mooresville Public Library (304 S. Main Street)
♦ Details: This program will teach kids the proper use of 911 and what they should do in case of an emergency. Join our dispatchers and Ella, the MPD therapy dog, as we talk about when and how to call 911.
Drug Take Back
Saturday, October 26
♦ Location: TBA
♦ Details: Safety dispose of expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs and syringes to prevent prescription drug abuse and theft. Additional time and location information will be released soon.
