Piedmont HealthCare announced plans on Thursday to open the PHC Pelvic Health Center, a newly renovated joint location at 1804 Davie Avenue in Statesville, on Monday, September 23.

This location, which formally housed the PHC Women’s Center, will also bring PHC Piedmont Urology under the same roof to offer comprehensive pelvic health services.

The PHC Pelvic Health Center is led by Dr. Mary Torres, a respected provider in women’s health in the community, and Dr. Tao Cui, PHC’s newest urologist. Together, they will provide a full range of pelvic health and wellness services, ensuring patients have easy access to essential care in one convenient location.

“I am excited to merge with Dr. Cui,” Torres said. “Often, our patients require care from a urologist. By offering urology care under the same roof, we are providing our patients with the highest level of comprehensive and convenient care.”

The PHC Women’s Center will continue to provide gynecologic care, led by Torres and Nurse Practitioner Rebekah McCarthy. Their services include but are not limited to minimally invasive hysterectomy, hereditary cancer screening, contraception management, in-office sterilization, and endometrial ablation.

The PHC Piedmont Urology team, led by Cui and Nurse Practitioner Viktoriia Passaro will address urologic conditions for men, women, and children. Their services cover a wide range of issues, including kidney stones, bladder problems such as overactive bladder, urge and stress incontinence, bladder cancer, and erectile dysfunction. They also provide interventional and surgical treatment for all prostate disorders, including benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and prostate cancer.
