Safe Kids Iredell County, Walmart and State Farm are hosting a Good Neighbor Car Seat Safety Event in Statesville from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 17.

The event will be held at Walmart Supercenter located at 1116 Crossroads Drive.

Car crashes are a leading cause of death for children in the U.S., but properly installed car seats can reduce the risk of fatal injury by 71 percent for infants and 54 percent for toddlers.

This event will help provide families with the knowledge and tools to help keep their children safe on the road. The event is free and open to the public.

A limited number of car seats will be available at no cost for families who are in need of one or whose seats are expired or otherwise unsafe. Child must be present.
